Yahoo Inc.’s board has approved a deal to acquire blogging startup Tumblr for $1.1 billion in cash.

There’s one important thing people should focus on, though:

Tumblr would continue to operate as an independent business, the people said.

Tumblr will still operate as Tumblr, guys. It’s just been bought by Yahoo so the site has money now.

And since so many people love to bring up Flickr:

On Monday, Yahoo will also deliver an update about its Flickr photo-sharing unit, a person familiar with matter said.

So maybe it won’t be as bad as everyone says. Maybe they’ll be working on bringing Flickr back and improving everything and making everything successful.
